FESCO sends first public container train from Shanghai to Moscow

MOSCOW, Jul 7 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Far-Eastern Shipping Company (FESCO) sent its first public container train from Shanghai to Moscow on July 3 within the FESCO Asia Landborder Train service, any customer can place a transportation request regardless of the number of containers in the shipment, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

“The train, consisting of 49 forty-foot and 2 twenty-foot FESCO containers, departed from the Minhang station in Shanghai on July 3,” the statement read.

Trains from Shanghai will be dispatched twice a month, in the future the company can increase their frequency. Cargo traffic will mainly consist of building materials, household appliances, clothes, etc.
